India has 28 states and 7 union territories and each having their own regional languages apart from Hindi as a National Language and speaks in most of the part in India. Also in India, majority of population lives in rural areas having limited resources. The cultural and social bio-diversities within functional context should be considered as these vary from one region and community to the other. Their personal, socio-cultural and occupational habits vary which includes squatting, sitting on the floor, kneeling, long sitting, using floor-level toilets, climbing stairs and travelling via high height local transportation system, worshiping in kneeling position, clothing which usually requires to tie a knot or wrap around (pyjama, dhoti etc). These social and cultural diversities within the functional context need to be addressed. This give rise to the need for outcome measures particularly designed for Indian Population and culture.
