This book is about how a British Victorian poet, regards a Persian hero from The Shahnameh,the sole cultural, personal saviour. The study reveals a course of transfiguration a poet undergoes to reach his lost identity. The figurs range from epicurists, to stoics, and finally to the adventurous but noble Perian Sohrab who sacrifices himself but save others. The study then reveals how a Victorian poet switches to Persia where an epic hero from Ferdowsi's great epic is referred to as a perfect model for true self.
