Cognitive functions closely linked to the function of particular areas,neural pathways,or cortical networks in the brain substrate layers of neurological matrix at the cellular molecular level. Schizophrenic also manifest a broad array of cognitive impairments,including impaired performance in attention,information processing,executive functions,memory and language capabilities. Attentional and verbal memory impairments are conceptualized as vulnerability markers,which may be useful in defining schizophrenia phenotype may be applicable to early detection,& provide a basis for creating new models for treatment development. The purpose of present study was to assess the Declarative Memory on the basis of PART based on WCST stimuli,patients with Paranoid & Undifferentiated Schizophrenia. Results showed that Executive functioning and Declarative memory of schizophrenics are impaired in comparison to normal subjects. Within the schizophrenics subgroups the greatest impairment exists in Undifferentiated schizophrenics. This book can be an eminent source of information for all researchers,for cognitive rehabilitation which may helps to improve the life skills of schizophrenic patients.
