An attempt to study the mindset of the society, how they view the role of girls and boys in household work, for education, classroom culture and processes was done. Major findings were increase in enrolment and survival rate, decrease in dropout rate after various interventions with gender perspective. Repetition rate increased as technically the dropouts were converted to repeaters. Teachers encouraged girls in lower class, but ignored in higher class. Teacher starts nurturing the stereotype culture in students as they grow up. Migration and poverty compels the parents to take support of girls in household work and sibling care with this added responsibility girls are unable to cope up with studies and become dropout or repeater. Parents have failed to perceive the need of education in earning livelihood. The distinguishing fact came up was the division of labour is based on the sex. Activities where boys are involved have economic value while girls performed the activities where there is no scope of assessing economic values. From here the discrimination starts and the values of the male dominated (patriarchal) society have an impact on educational performance of girls.
