Ultra Sil is the biologically activated potentialised herbal extract based on sanjeevan system of medicine. It contains Adhatoda vasaka (0.01%), Cardiospermum helicacabum (0.01%), Embelia ribes (0.01%), aqua solvent (99.97%). It activates the extraction of silica by controlling the opening of stomata so the roots are stimulated to absorb silica from soil. The field experiment was conducted at Post Graduate Institute, Research Farm, during rabi season, 2011-12 with view to study the response of foliar application of Ultra Sil (herbal extract) on nutrient uptake and yield of maize. The foliar application of Ultra Sil (herbal extract) @ 2 ml L-1 + 0.01% Ca-silicate sprays at 20 and 45 DAS along with recommended dose of chemical fertilizers (120: 60: 40 N: P2O5: K2O kg ha-1) found beneficial in respect of growth parameters, yield, N, P, K and Si. The similar results were also observed when Ultra Sil @ 1 ml L-1 at 20 DAS or 2 ml L-1 at 20 and 45 DAS along with RDF were applied.
