Fluorosis is a crippling disorder or condition known to occur due to the entry of fluoride into the body. The wide spread endemicity of fluoride and increase in the prevalence of dental fluorosis has been noticed in the recent past. Dental fluorosis is an aesthetic and social problem, besides being a health problem. Fluorosis causes devastating effect on health in all the age groups and the problem is aggravated due to malnutrition or deficient dietary intake. If fluorosis is diagnosed mitigation through structured interventions need to be practiced at the primordial stage of development to derive benefit from the disease management. As there is no treatment for fluorosis prevention and control through interventions is the only approach to combat fluorosis which include safe drinking water and nutritional strategies.
