WHO (2005) estimated the incidence of preeclampsia to be seven times higher in developing countries (2.8% of live births) than in developed countries (0.4%). In this study, the researcher tried to identify the major risk factors that contributing to the development of PIH among pregnant women in GS, and benefit from the suspected identified factors in putting plans for controlling and modifying these factors to reduce their adverse effects for the sake of mothers and their infants. The results of the study revealed that part of the risk factors contributing to the development of PIH were modifiable factors including; age of delivery, BMI, number of pregnancies, number of deliveries, previous history of PIH, previous abortion, dietary habits, exercise and rest, and antenatal care.
