The Little prince is a classic tale of equal appeal which is written both for children and adults. This novella is both the most read and most translated book in the French language, and was voted the best book of the 20th century in France. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) tries to find the traces of power in discourse and reveal the ideology for which a discourse attempts to represent for. A close analysis of textual characteristics of texts including linguistic ones like those of vocabulary and grammar and the non linguistic features such as images can contribute to understanding of power relations and ideological procedures in discourse.
