This book analyses the complex forms of articulation between militarism and capitalism in Turkey. It firstly develops a critical evaluation of the existing literature on the relationship among militarism, capitalism and the state. Secondly, it critical evaluates the prevailing state-centric modes of analysis of the state and the military in Turkey. Finally, using strategic-relational Marxist theoretical framework, it analyzes two phenomenal forms of the articulation between militarism and capitalism in Turkey, namely the military intervention in 1960 and the subsequent rise of the military-economic structure.
