The Growth and Development of the European Union
Thomas P.z. Mpofu
Although Western Europe is comparatively small, it has achieved a level of development that is out of proportion to its size and is clearly identified as a major regional world power. In this book, an analysis of the origins of the European Union, together with factors that facilitated its phenomenal growth and development, is being explored. The policies and other the legal instruments that guided its development have been cited. The book then looks at the advantages and disadvantages of its enlargement. It is hoped that, as Africa stampedes into regional integration in general, some experiences of the European Union will provoke some debate around the issue.
