X-ray Spectroscopy: Insulators and Electron-phonon Coupling
Ivar Kuusik
This book gives a short theoretical introduction to X-ray spectroscopy and explores some of its interesting experimental results. Mostly the focus is on core excitons and their excitation and subsequent decay. The interesting and new results are from RIXS measurements on LBO, BBO and other insulators. Implications on electron-phonon interaction in solids can be drawn from the experiments. The strength of the phonon relaxation effect in solids is also studied.
