This work is an exploratory study conducted among married middle-aged women from different milieu to know their midlife experience. The perceived culture and the effects of culture on midlife management are highlighted in this book. The psychological, physical and spiritual transitions of midlife are an unavoidable reality that is necessary for the growth of the individual. The perceived culture influences the person to manage midlife transitions better; however, midlife experience differs from person to person and from culture to culture. Besides, this book sheds light on the attributes, challenges and managing strategies. In the cultural context of India, women endure a sense of release from the cultural taboos at their midlife. Sense of solidarity, sense of importance and life satisfaction are the important perceived effects of culture on midlife management. This book will be useful to the midlifers who are going through middle-age passage to know their midlife changes and transitions, and to know how to manage it in a better way. It also helps the mental-health professionals to help the middle-aged clients using culturally receptive psychological interventions.
