Women empowerment is a much talked about matter; still we feel very uncomfortable when we see women in a very pitiable condition in our society. On the other hand, we feel very proud of them when women reach the highest position at the international level. Government bodies and NGOs try to take necessary steps to empower women. A question can be raised, why women should be empowered? Empowerment allows women to reach their full potential, to improve their political and social participation, and to believe in their own capabilities. If we want to see women empowered, then education is one of the most important means of empowering them. Education of women can be helpful in eradicating many social evils such as dowry and unemployment. An attempt has been made in this book to examine the various issues and problems which women face in relation to their education and suggests remedies to eliminate poverty through education which will empower women.
