The work purpose is to find out how corporality is designing by means of such practice of art as performance on the basis of phenomenological concepts of Merlo-Ponti and Foucault, and also to establish degree of applicability of phenomenological approach to studying of the modern art which, in this case, is presented by performance. The main objectives of the work is to consider Merlo-Ponti's phenomenology of body; to consider social and political measurement of corporality in the long term Foucault's theories; to carry out systematization of concepts of Merlo-Ponti and Foucault; to consider existing practices of performance, and to carry out their analysis on the basis of the considered theories of corporality.
