SCAR marker is an important tool for screening different genotypes amongst germplasms and identification of different characters. Screening and identification by morphological markers are very hectic and incorporates many errors. Molecular tools like SCAR makes the task of genotype screening very convenient and accurate. Here, in my effort, SCAR is utilized for screening of cracking and non-cracking genotypes in jackfruit. Such molecular marker can be used for screening the cracking genotypes in the seedling stage before planting in the main field.
