Process Based Modeling in Constructed Wetlands
Lordwin Jeyakumar
Data can become information if we know the processes involved. Information can become knowledge if we see the system that is operating. But Knowledge only becomes wisdom when we can see how any system must change, and can deal with the reality (Peter Allen, Coherence, Chaos and Evolution in the Social Context, Futures 26: 597,1994). Constructed wetlands are dynamic ecosystems that generally have poor predictive capabilities. Therefore, the author developed a process based model for nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) removal in a novel configuration constructed wetland system to understand the wetland function and structure, testing hypothesis and making predictions.
