This is a research study on the importance of the privatization process in the region of the Southeast Europe with particular focus in Kosovo, and the rationale and pros and cons to the privatization of the incumbent mobile operators in Southeast Europe. The focus of this paper is on the deregulation process in United States and Europe, the lessons learned and the efficiency argument behind the rationale of liberalizing the telecommunication market and privatizing the telecom companies. I've strived to explore economic, political, and ideological reasoning behind the privatization process in the telecommunication sector in the Southeast Europe - as well as exploring the biggest challenges to this process and the stakeholders that are involved. This study analyses thoroughly the Private Sector Participation (PSP) at the Post Telecom of Kosova (PTK) by taking into account the global and regional best practices in the incumbent operator privatization.
