Study of reproductive biology of fish is important for planning aquaculture for commercial point of view. Hill stream fishes are the indicators of ecology and any small change in habitat or on qualityof water may affect on population. Wild species of fishes play an important role in biodiversity and ecological status, many of them are inhabitantsof streams and torrential streams. Toconserve these wild species we must know theirbiology, food feeding habit, spawning, reproductive statergies adn reproductive biology. Due to construction of Dam for irrigation and hydroelectric power station. many of the streams have become seasonal streams which is badly affecting on the biota of streams. Fish biota from seasonal stream are under threat, therefore to conserve many wild speices of torrential strem fishes we should know the reporductive biology to conserve them. There are mnay booksavilable on fish biology which are reared in aquaculture but there is no book available on reproductivebiology of torrential stream fishes. Therefore this book will be very good reference on loach Nemachilus moreh.
