Grape: Genetic Diversity and Microsatellite Markers
Mukund Shiragur
Grape (Vitis vinifera L.)is one of the most important fruit crop of the world and occupies second place in terms of production worldwide. Considering the importance of the crop there is a need to identify and develop the superior varieties/hybrids for further enhancement of yield with quality produce. Hence, the research work was conducted using 46 genotypes consisting of popular cultivars and some hybrids to study their genetic divergence and correlation existing in the selected phenotypes for quality parameters, to assess heritability, genetic advance for various characters and to study the association of characters through correlation and path coefficient analysis. the work on such parameters especially in grape using microsatellite markers will of great significance. The publication will be useful to the breeders, students and farmers who are involved in crop improvement and and farmers who are involved in crop improvement and crop production
