Clustered hybrid material consisting of orthosilicic acid, DNA bases (cytosine, adenine) and PVP-oxime have been formed. They have been characterized by spectroscopy including FT-IR, 1H-NMR and 29Si-NMR. Their molecular weight were elucidated as viscosity average molecular weight. It is supposed to have potential applications in drug loading and drug releasing studies, biosensors, films, coatings and purification of DNA binding proteins.
