Web Design Patterns in the Health Sector: Paging vs Scrolling
Muideen O. Bakare
The study was carried out by implementing the two design patterns in a web application that was developed for the assessment of healthcare workers knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder in developing countries. A total of thirty healthcare workers which were divided into two groups of fifteen each, participated in the survey. A group was assigned to use the scrolling design pattern before the paging design pattern, while the other group used the paging design pattern before the scrolling design pattern. The outcome of the survey suggests that the questionnaire should be implemented online with a scrolling design pattern. Most of the healthcare workers found it easier to use and preferred it to the paging design pattern.
