Civic Awareness Among College Youth in Mandya District, Karnataka State Roopashree S.

This book focuses on the civic awareness among youth in Karnataka. As we see many problems in the society, there seems to be a lethargic attitude among the general public. This book aims to bring out the civic skills; civic responsibilities and civic awareness one should have, for many it may be an eye opener too. In the findings there is a clear disparity in gender with respect to civic awareness. Majority of the male respondents have a high level of civic duty, civic skills and civic participation, and Youth from joint families have a high level of civic duty, civic skills, and civic participation. Also, the findings of the study show that, as age increases the level of civic duty, civic skills and civic participation is decreasing. As individuals grow old, they must become more mature, develop the feeling of community involvement and become more self actualized. The findings of the study will help people to compete with each other to grow, in-terms of improving their civic awareness, skills and responsibilities. Thus our country will definitely sooner become one of the finest countries in the world, even added in the list as a developed country.
