Using speech technology with Microsoft Smartphone, it makes Smartphone easily operable for visually challenged person. In this technology, users input their requests in form of text commands and receive speech output as response. This book proposes two solutions based on speech technology which are helpful for visually challenged person in operating a Smartphone. The solutions can be categorized as- (1) Client ?Server architecture (Text to Speech Conversion takes place on server) and (2) On device solution (Text to Speech Conversion takes place on smartphone itself i.e. no communication delay). In this book, second solution- ?On device solution? is implemented which provides- audio access to PIM data (Appointments, Tasks and Contacts), audio access to text messages, audio access to current status of the system (current date time, battery status, and network status), as well as it provides facility to play music files. Additionally, it is also demonstrated that how to make and receive a call, how to send and receive E mail by the blind.
