The Kenya Red Cross Society has been active in responding to and mitigating the effects of both man-made and natural disasters. The society has eight Regional branches countrywide s used by which are coordinated from the headquaters in Nairobi. The ICT tools mostly employed include the HF radios and butterfly cameras which were used during the oil tanker tragedy and Nakumatt supermarket fire in Nairobi downtown. The Kenya Red cross society has also been offering relief aid to the suffering countrywide especially during the 2007/2008 post election violence.
