Knowledge and its transfer are important to organizations in today?s knowledge-based economy. However, knowledge transfers are full of stickiness. This book proposes a unique perspective to overcome such problem - choosing the right knowledge transfer approach. Specifically, the book aims to examine three main questions: 1. What are the knowledge transfer approaches available to transfer knowledge? 2. What are the factors affecting the choice of knowledge transfer approach? 3. What are the effects of the choice of knowledge transfer approach on knowledge transfer stickiness? Findings suggest that different approaches are required to transfer different types of knowledge. Further, a fit between the knowledge transfer approach with the nature of knowledge is able to reduce knowledge transfer stickiness. In addition, it is also found that the degree of power relations present within organizations would influence knowledge management practices due to rent-seeking behavior of individuals. This book is excellent for students studying the topic of knowledge management, for scholars who conduct rigorous research on KM and for practitioners who need to practice KM activities.
