For the past forty years, Tanzania has been struggling to feed herself. Food production has not improved despite massive help from the international community. Some of this AID includes funds, machinery and manpower. The major reason is mismanagement of physical environment. Very little academic literature exists on how the environment and its related problems should be managed which are the source of Tanzanian poverty and hunger. This book, therefore, provides some case studies and techniques which are likely to provide an answer to the enigma. The book also gives an account of traditional methods and modern methods used in these case studies and it goes on to discuss cases of controversies entailed in environmental injustices, environmental disasters and in environmental impact assessment.
