?Physicochemical Properties of Model Catanionic Surfactant Systems? provides a planned account of the common features-preparation and characterization-of amino acid based mixed cationic and anionic (so called ?catanionic?) surfactant stable vesicles. A variety of instrumental techniques have been used to illustrate varied aspects so that the range of size and behavior exhibited by these mixtures in different compositions and concentrations is retained within the set framework. Interaction and self-assembly behavior of the pH-responsive vesicles have discussed in details. The application of the stable vesicles has been demonstrated using encapsulation and pH-triggered release of a model fluorescent dye from the aqueous core of the vesicles. This book contains a judicious combination of both preparation and characterization techniques elaborately.
