Value is the desirable ideals which are ends in themselves and which when achieved elicit a deep sense of fulfillment. Every human action is the reflection of personal or social values. Social values which a person has to follow to live peacefully in society and secondly his personal values which are based upon his own behavior pattern. The world is passing through a period of deep value crises. Today few people care for or have respect for the old age value like freedom,belief,sincerity and self respect and so on. Very rarely are people found making sacrifice for the benefits of others. Adolescents is a period of personal development during which they establishes sense of individual identity and feeling of self-worth which include internalizing a personal value system and preparing for adult roles. The book is an attempt to explore the values held by adolescents in the age group of 13-18 years as this is a turbulent phase aggravated by his/her struggle with his/her own values, parent and society. Hope the book would throw light on the younger generation's personal values which might acts as an indicator to formulate value oriented programmes and welfare policies for the adolescents.
