The process of urbanization of the city of Karachi has undergone different stages, some very peaceful and calm and some haphazard and abrupt. This complex situation makes it extremely suitable to consider it as a case study. This study will explore urbanization as a dynamical process via modified mathematical models such as Gravity and CLUE models. Different stages of the urbanization of Karachi will be analyzed using these models. It is expected that the outcomes of our study will help the city planners in general and the city government in particular for the scientific promotion and enhancement of its future plans in view of the urbanization dynamics of the city.
