Most of the studies on borrowing concentrate on causes and effects of borrowing but not much has been done to account for what happens to the words that are borrowed in terms of sound change. That is what this book, Regional Morphophonemics, seeks to address, with focus on loan words from English to Olukabarasi, a dialect of Luhya language from Western Kenya. This book thus fills an important gap in language contact research. It is therefore a resourceful book for students of linguistics and all scholars interested in Comparative Linguistics. The author, Evelyn Mahero, has a Bachelors degree in Education (Arts) with specialization in Literature, English Language and Linguistics, and a Master of Arts degree in English Language and Linguistics from Egerton University. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies in the same university where she is also an associate member of the faculty.
