This project seeks to grow and manage grafted trees of the shea crop in plantations for duration of six years in order to make shea nuts more accessible to rural women for shea butter production. Research has shown that Ghana has the potential to produce about ninety (90) percent of the world`s shea nuts. This is particularly the picture when the necessary steps are taken to explore the potential. Currently, shea trees are still classified as wild species due to low level of investment and support. Campaign Against Female Marginalization (CAFM) with its mission to ?empower women through joint economic venture? wishes to grow and manage shea trees in plantations in order to increase the production shea butter for the domestic market and for export.
