People's Inspiration Towards Fisheries Activities: Inspiring Agents in Pakundia Upazila of Kishoreganj, Dhaka, Bangladesh Mohammad Abdullah Al Imran

The research work was performed to detect the inspiring agents that have been playing important role for the extension of the fisheries activities in Pakundia Upazila of Kishoreganj, Dhaka, Bangladesh. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect the data from 50 randomly selected individuals. The data was processed and analyzed by using Microsoft Office and SPSS softwares. Radio, Television, Newspapers, Extension workers, NGOs & other private organizations have been playing vital role for the motivation of people to be involved in fisheries activities. Among 50 people, 46 individuals are involved in fish culture and only 2 individuals are involved in each of the working fields- hatching and fish and fish seed marketing. Half of the number of individuals of all educational levels, is inspired by following others who are already involved in fisheries activities. Gradually more and more people have been being influenced towards fisheries activities especially in fish culture and jolmohal leasing as these are comparatively easier than others.
