Students come in classes with various ideas on various things they see in their surroundings. Hence they already know various concepts pertaining their lives. The assimilation of new concepts which replaces what they previously understood wrongly is regarded as conceptual change. Teaching for conceptual change occurs when a teacher understands the prior knowledge of the learners on the subject matter to understand the learning demands. When the learners corrects the misconception they had after learning, it when conceptual change is said to have occurred. As teachers, we need to organize the teaching and learning so that our teaching becomes meaningful when we erase the misconception of the learners.
