It gives me immense pleasure to have done a research work on the health seeking behavior of my tribal people. As I myself belong to tribal community (Santhal community), had a great desire to do some research work on the tribal people not only on the Santhal community but also on the other tribal communities, Ho and Khadea, as i have grown up studying with some of my childhood friends from Ho and Khadea tribal communities in village school during my childhood time. These tribal communities especially the Khadea community residing in the neighbour hilly and dense forest area near my village, always has been away from the lime lights. I had always wished to disseminate some information on socio-cultural beliefs and health practices of tribal people to the outer world. So i decided to undertake a study to assess the health seeking behavior for malaria of three tribal communities (Santhal, Ho and Khadea) in the Jharadihi block of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha state, as it belonged to my home land. I hope my research work will help to enlighten some of the hidden facts about health seeking behavior of the tribal people.
