Since the dawn of history, folktales have been serving to pass didactic lessons to the audience to enlighten their mindset. However, this literary genre has started recently to lose its superficial role due to its inherent discursiveness in representing gender identity. Thus, the book in hand aims at scrutinizing the representation of gender dual dichotomy in folktales; this book is also written to provide the reader with a theoretical as well as an analytical insight on issues that concern gender as a social construct. To this very reason, a case study has been selected for exploring closely the various metaphorical aspects through which gender clash is depicted. For the critical study of this problematic theme, recourse to the feminist-based oppositional approach is suggested in this vein to fit into the requirements of our methodological analysis.
