Government is making an effort to assist these SHGs by providing Micro Finance under DWCRA. The DWCRA was initiated as a Sub-scheme of IRDP with UNICEF assistance during 1982-83 in Andhra Pradesh. Under the programme each women takes up economic activities suited to their skills, aptitude and locally available resources.
