Normally, buffalo is considered as silent estrus animal which results in higher age at puberty, long calving interval and poor conception rate. After parturition, animals suffer from various metabolic disorders which affect their performance. The main cause of the poor reproductive and productive performance is improper nutritional manipulation among which minerals have major contribution. The macro-minerals which have significant influence in systemic acid base status and are closely associated with productive and reproductive performance of buffaloes has been discussed in the book. This book also deals with measures for optimum milk production and prevention of metabolic disorders like hypocalcaemia, milk fever, mastitis and udder edema.
