Once while returning from Thangarh (mentioned as Timangarh in the Persian Book Tabqat ? i Nasiri) after conducting a survey of various buildings, I saw a handsome structure in a small town of Rupbas in North-Eastern Rajasthan en-route to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri. Rupbas, therefore, became my next project. Having collected all relevant and valuable data from primary Persian texts and cotemporary European Traveler?s Accounts, I made a trip to the Rupbas for detailed study and survey of the magnificent Medieval Structure which was constructed by Rup Singh as a gifted to Mughal Emperor Jahangir. The surrounding area was developed as township named after name of planner of the place as Rupbas. Architecture of Hunting Resort reflects balance of the employment of selected specialists in this field and an Indian building system was sustained, insofar as the majority of building professionals were Indian, and vastu vidya, unconsciously, continued to be applied in building practices. Particularly important in this regard is the thinking process of Rup Khas who exerted considerable influence on the architecture of Rajputana, Bengal and Mughal.
