To fight the existing severe poverty and tackle the problems of food security the Government of Ethiopia has designed and implement the Integrated Rural Agricultural Extension Intervention Programme. This intervention has many options for technology adoption linked with skill training and management as well as technology input supplies and credit services focusing on specialization based diversification. Transfer of knowledge and technology to the rural farmers to adopt different technologies was vital.
