Public operated comprehensive rehabilitation centershave been in existence for over 50 years and provided valuable vocational rehabilitation servicesto thousands of persons with disabilities. Thesefacilities offer a wide range of services seeking toassist the individual gain or maintain employment andoffer unique opportunities for persons with the mostsignificant disabilities. These facilities aregenerally large in nature and costly to operate interms of tax payer dollars, yet little empiricalresearch exists evaluating the effectiveness of thisapproach to vocational rehabilitation. This study seeks to address this lack of knowledge, by analyzing factors that contribute to centerparticipants' ability to complete their plannedcenter program. It also seeks to determine whetherpersons who complete a public operated comprehensiverehabilitation center vocational rehabilitationprogram are more likely to gain employment thancenter participants who did not complete their centerprogram.
