Aquinas' Commentary on the Gospel of St John is his mature bible-commentary and a masterpiece of exegesis. He refers to 31 books of the Old and from 20 books of the New Testament. According to Otto Hermann Pesch it was written just before Aquinas wrote the 3rd part of 'Summa Theologiae'.
