Alberto Cont Yves Michaud

Alberto Cont was born in Italy in 1956. In 1980, he was accepted at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts, in Paris, and began to work in the studio of Olivier Debré. "Cont's work ranges from a minimal composition of the pictorial surface to a more in-depth exploration, and from the use of simple colored forms to lighter versions and their profound penetration. Approaches that could be described as factual have evolved into the subtle production of ambiances or ensembles of sensation. A magnificient painting from 2010 is entitled 'Rays of light' and another from 2011, 'Almost Concealed'. These two titles perfectly designate and describe Cont's poetic vocation."
