This collection of short horror stories for children contains four new terrifying stories, each rooted within Woodsmen County. Stories include: Wolves of Woodsmen County: A Brief History of Pine Veil - This tale explores the struggles that early immigrants faced as they tried to colonize the area during the early days of Texas. Sally Scratch and the Squirrel - A young Pine Veil resident, Steven, hears the disturbing legend of a local mother, Sally, who contracted rabies. The Bat House Bag - When a group of children decide to investigate a local mystery, they venture deeper in the forest than they should. Helpful Hank - Hank is fixing up his mother's house, something he probably should have done sooner. DEEPER IN THE FOREST picks up along the same strange streets and explores the rich legends that haunt the tall forests of Pine Veil, Texas, as introduced in the prequel, DEEP IN THE FOREST.
