This is the story of an angry young boy who set out in a Children's Crusade to reach the Holy Land. The crusade fails on the shores of the Mediterranean. Henri believes that God has failed him. Sir Isaac, a kindly older knight, rescues him from the streets of Marseilles and hires the young boy as his squire. Sir Isaac teaches him the life of a knight while returning the boy to the home of his grandfather.
