We love some Louisiana style cooking. When you think Cajun, New Orleans, you think mostly: jambalaya, andouille, crawfish and more. Awesome seafood, awesome casseroles, few desserts, few appetizers, maybe few beverages also. Louisiana is a French colony as you probably know by now. The characteristics of this type of cooking are that it is slow cooking, full of flavors and spices. The vegetables mainly used in Louisiana are yellow onion, celery and peppers. You will also use largely the following: carrots, okras, green onions, potatoes and corn. As far as fruits you will find in this state often, you should include the lemon, lime, oranges and some types of berries. In the next chapters, we will list some of types of food items you will have to keep handy to make these dishes. Let's start so you can enjoy cooking these wonderful dishes as soon as possible!
