From author James Cloud comes the classic and powerful epic adventure that captures the gorgeous intensity of life in Germany during the early 20th century. It is the extraordinary saga of people who lived there during exciting and dangerous times. It is a tale of love and danger, of unthinkable loss - a stunning and vivid portrayal of people divided by class, faith, and prejudice - an expert, sensational story that unveils the face of a fascinating, majestic city of dazzling elegance and decadence. Berlin is the stage on which the drama of history is played in a portrayal of strident patriotism, wrenching sorrow, exuberant optimism, dashed hopes, terror and ultimate descent into one of history's darkest periods. The author, James Cloud is a retired educator with more than 40 years of experience teaching History, Government, German, and English as a Second Language. Among his awards are The Adult Educator of the Year in Utah. The author attended the Institute of Arts in West Berlin and worked as an interpreter for the British Military Mission during the Cold War years. While living in Germany, he developed an intimate knowledge of both East and West Berlin. Cloud later completed a Master's Degree in German Linguistics and Literature at California State University at Fullerton. Brandenburg: A Story of Berlin received the Five Stars award in 2019 by Reader's Favorites, and is also an award winner in the 2019 Reader's Favorite award contest for the category Fiction - Cultural.
