Joop came into Jeannie's life as a blur of rainbows, sparkles, and motion, leaving the introverted writer with a bit of a headache. When Joop came to America for his year abroad in an American high school, he brought his Dutch values and prejudices of American culture with him. Jeannie thought she could teach him a thing or two, but in the end, she learned far more than him: about friendship, family, her ancestral home, and her own prejudices. Joop Does America fills in the blank of the popular #joopdoesamerica videos, which feature the energetic Joop trying everything American, annoying his American host family, and occasionally attempting to teach Jeannie Dutch.
