This is a modern story that began in 1998 and ends in 2012. It is based on true events that take place in a small rural town, not far from the ocean, in Northern California. The main characters are the chief of police, his sergeant, who happens to be his wife, and the brother in law. His deputies and others come and go. The chief is in charge to enforcing the town laws as he sees fit. There is little to no oversight. All seems well, even with the Native American owned casino, and an international school for clowns -- but was it? Underneath the calm, in the dark parts of one's life, there are drugs, and a criminal act, followed by a shooting, rapes, guns, sex, and courtroom antics
