A convergence of palpable influences, interest and wonder, musical intention exhales inventiveness and possibilities, inspiring out intangible substance, freshness and presence; the flowing dimensions of sound, silence and rhythm ripen and shape connections and suggestions. At times light-hearted or reflective, other times abstract or arcane, ) INspired OUT( emanates from employing visual means to help guide musical plasticity into syncretic realization. While more than a few of these scores and performance pieces are simple melodies, rounds, polyphonic and homophonic arrangements-like close harmonics whose unaffected qualities mollify the need for experimentation-an appreciable number of these works offer graphic renderings and performance details aiming toward a visceral, sometimes theatrical aural presentation. With nominal instruction, these scores aspire toward an imaginative horizon for the performer, listener and reader by way of their visuality and compositional intent. In view of that, ) INspired OUT( offers an atmosphere of reveries convening delightful connections between eye and ear. Andrew Franck has written for performance art ensembles, chamber groups and electronic media. His recordings include One Breath Bardo, Dances and Emanations, Maps For Dreaming, By Chance and Appointment, A Body of Drops and Winds. and In This Bath We Don't Get Wet. His soundtracks are featured in works for dance, film, and ambient environments. His Variation On A Theme By Conlon Nancarrow was featured in Les Ballet Trockadero de Monte Carlo's productions of Cross Currents.
