The Eagle and the Pearl: Kyrie is the first volume of a tale of a young girl's journey into womanhood, aided along the way by her grandmother, a miniature wolf, a fiercely loyal and resourceful hunting hound, ancient Celtic goddesses, and a poet-soldier who falls in love with her. On her way she encounters good and evil in numerous forms and in the end emerges victorious not so much through the intervention of others, but by the exercise of her own considerable powers.
